BEVERLY — Paul R. LeBlanc, 58, of Beverly, son of Rita A. (Motard) LeBlanc and the late Louis V. LeBlanc, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Lahey Clinic Burlington.

Paul was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving abord AP31 Monrovia. He worked for 35 years for West Lynn Creamery/Garelick Farms as their senior driver/employee with just under four million safe driver miles when he was forced to retire due to A.L.S., Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Paul grew up in Salem and was a boater like the rest of his family, including his grandfather, father, uncles, and brothers.

In addition to his mother, Rita, of Beverly, Paul leaves behind four sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery P. of Beverly, Brian P. and his wife, Tara, of Merrimack, N.H., P.J. and his wife, Tara, of Beverly, and Robert L. of Peabody; a daughter, Ashley P. LeBlanc of Peabody; three grandchildren, Ariana and Alexa LeBlanc, and little P.J. LeBlanc of Beverly; his older brother, Norman L. and his wife, Elaine, of Beverly; his sister, Estelle Coan and her husband, Mark, of Peabody; his sister, Suzanne and her husband, Bruce Corson, of Exeter, N.H.; his younger brother, Daniel, of Dillon, N.C.; and his kid sister, Noreen and her husband, Tom Maher, of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Berube and Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Routes 1A/114), Salem, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service and burial will be private. BEVERLY – Dominic P. Tringali, age 91 years, husband of the late Marie V. (Scoglio) Tringali, died early Friday morning, December 16, 2005 at the Radius Healthcare of Danvers. Born in East Boston, son of the late Carmelo and Grazia (Arancio) Tringali, he was raised and educated in E. Boston. Mr. and Mrs. Tringali had raised there family in Revere for many years and he had lived in Salem for over 10 years.

Mr. Tringali was an avid fisherman and skilled craftsman. He was a wooden boat builder with the Tringali Boat Yard in East Boston. A devoted husband and father, he dedicated his life to his family and his greatest joys were his granddaughters, Lauren and Danielle. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all.

Surviving him are 3 children, Richard P. Tringali and his wife Christine of Wakefield; Janice M. Ostrowski and her husband Stanley of Beverly; Jeanne M. Tringali (worked in Training Dept.) and her husband Thomas Bialaski of Middleton; 2 granddaughters, Lauren and Danielle Tringali of Wakefield; 2 step grandchildren, Matthew Ostrowski, Beth Lancaster; 9 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Sebastian, Frank, John, Joseph, and Dominica Tringali and Marion Cataldo.

NORTH READING — Irene A. (Colombo) Dodge, 91, wife of the late Arthur L. Dodge of 134 North St., North
Reading and formerly of 12 Myrtle Square, Gloucester, died on Saturday evening, Dec. 10, 2005, at the
Sunbridge Nursing Home in North Reading.

She was born in Gloucester on Jan. 27, 1914, the daughter of the late Enrico and Frances (Bertoni)
Colombo.

Irene worked for many years as a sales clerk at Almy's Department Store and Empire Clothing in Gloucester,
before retiring in 1976.

She was past president of the Emblem Club 339.

Mrs. Dodge is survived by her son, William H. Dodge, husband of Cindy J. (Whitaker) Dodge of Manchester-by-the-Sea; her daughter, Beverly A. Lentine, wife of Frank S. Lentine of Danvers: four grandchildren, Benjamin A. Dodge and Abbey L. Dodge, both of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mark F. Lentine of Danvers, and Robyn A. Donovan of Wenham; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Lentine, Hanna Lentine and
Mitchell Lentine, all of Danvers, and Quinn Catherine Donovan and Maia Elizabeth Donovan, both of Wenham.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the James C. Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St.,
Gloucester, on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church,
Holy Family Parish at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the Greely Funeral Home are on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

SALEM — Marguerite A. (Manning) O'Shea, 87, died at her home Monday, Dec. 5, 2005. She was the wife of the
late Salem Police Officer Thomas H. O'Shea.

Mrs. O'Shea was born in Peabody, the daughter of the late William and Delia (McDermott) Manning. She was a
graduate of Peabody schools and had been a resident of Peabody prior to moving to Salem 50 years ago.

Marguerite was a parishioner of St. James Parish, a member of the Ladies Sodality, and a volunteer worker
at the Bingo and Christmas Fair. She was the former president of the Salem Police Relief Association
Ladies Auxiliary and had been employed for more than 17 years in the building inspector's office for the
city of Salem.

Surviving are three sons, William of Basking Ridge, N. J., Paul and his wife, Anne, and Thomas and his
wife, Jayne, all of Salem; eight grandchildren, Michael, Aisling, Erin, Patrick, Shannon, Christopher,
Connor, and Kevin O'Shea; four sisters, Dorothy O'Donnell of Salem, Ann Quinn and Genevieve Walsh and
her husband, John, of Peabody, and Mary Perry of Danvers; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Duncan O'Shea.

BEVERLY — Anna M. (Albano) Sacchetti, 75, of Beverly, wife of the late Alfred A. Sacchetti, died Friday,
Nov. 25, 2005, in Beverly Hospital, following an ill turn at home.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Sardelli) Albano. She had been a
resident of Beverly all of her life.

Prior to her retirement, Anna had been employed by both Zayre's and Ames Department Stores in North
Beverly, for a total of 25 years.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, North Beverly, and a member of their Ladies
Sodality. Anna also was a member of the Vittori Rocci Post, Beverly.

Surviving her are two daughters, Lori Sacchetti-Rossi (worked in Tech Support) and Debbie Zaldivar (worked in CSD and Marketing),  two brothers, Emilio J. Albano and his wife, Eleanor, and Frank P. Albano and his wife,
Claire, all of Beverly; three grandchildren, Matthew Rae McMillan, Ryan Adam McMillan and Alanna Victoria Zaldivar; and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS Her funeral Mass will be con-celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, North Beverly, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.  At Anna's request, there will be no visiting hours.

SALEM — Josephine Theresa Cawley, 81, of. Salem, the wife of George L. Cawley, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, suddenly at NSMC-Salem Hospital.

Mrs. Cawley was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Feb. 15,1924, the daughter of the late William and Josephine
(Ruddle) Barrett. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, where she attended Catholic schools.

She worked as an accountant at the former NYNEX Co in Yellow Pages Commissions. She started her business career working for local banks, including Merchants Warren Naional Bank in Salem.

She was a member of St. James Church Salem. Since retirement, Josephine spent the last years caring for
her loving husband of 60 years. Over the years, she enjoyed travelling with her husband to AMVETS
functions and the reunions of the USS Calloway. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was an avid
reader.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Carol Frasier and partner David D'Auria of
Columbia, Md., Barbara St. Pierre and her husband Richard M. of Peabody, and Elizabeth "Beth" Debski and
her husband Paul of Salem. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan Frasier, Katie St. Pierre,
Robert St. Pierre, Meghan Debski, and Alex Debski; her sister-in-law, Caroline LeBlanc; and many nieces and
nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 28, at 10:15 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem (corner of North Street), followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. James Church,

Sheryl F. Crayton, a Union Representative for Verizon, died at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on November 13, 2005 following a lengthy illness. She was 62 years old. Born in Roxbury, she was a graduate of Saint Joseph's Academy in Roxbury. She had worked for 31 years as a Union Steward and Union Negotiator for Bell Atlantic and Verizon. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Daughter of Sherrel and Cleo (Nurse) Crayton of Boston. Sister of Diane of Boston, Vaughan of Leominster, Terese Ackerly of ME and Anthony of Boston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Florence L. Marcorelle, 88 

SALEM — Florence L. (LeClerc) Marcorelle, 88, of Salem, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Pilgrim
Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Peabody, following a brief illness.

Born in Lynn and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Bella (Tremblay) Leclerc.

Mrs. Marcorelle was a woman who loved spending time with her family and friends and was very much devoted
to her church. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem.

She is survived by three sons, Roger E. and his wife, Cheryl Marcorelle, of Marblehead, Paul W. and his
wife, Carleen Marcorelle, of Brentwood, Calif., and Raymond J. Marcorelle of Salem; one sister, Cecile
Jacques of Salem; four granddaughters, Nicole and Rachel Marcorelle of Marblehead, Cynthia Lucero, and
Katherine Marcorelle of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was wife of the late Edmond J.Marcorelle.

Robert E. Salvanelli, age 84, husband of the late Livia C. (Masserella) Salvanelli, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 11, 2005, at the Twin Oaks Harborside Nursing Home in Danvers.

Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Albert and Lena (Morbitelli) Salvanelli. He was raised in Beverly
and graduated from the Beverly Co-operative Trade School at the United Shoe Machine Corp.

Following high school, Mr. Salvanelli entered the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II. Upon
returning from the war, Mr. Salvanelli was employed with the United Shoe Machine Corp., where he worked
for more than 45 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a machinist for the company.

He was a member of the USM Quarter Century Club.

Mr. Salvanelli was an avid golfer. You could see him at the United Shoe Golf Club, where he was a member,
anywhere from three to five times a week. He also enjoyed playing cards at the Italian Community Center,
where he was a member, and he enjoyed bowling when he was younger. Mr. Salvanelli was also a member of the
Patria e Lavoro Society and the Vittori Rocci Post.

Surviving him are six children, Thomas Salvanelli of Beverly, Mike Salvanelli and his wife, Lauren, of
Manchester, N.H., Albert Salvanelli of Florida, Susan Sigurdson and her husband, Mark, of Salem, Va.,
Patricia Karvouniaris and her husband, Peter, of Beverly, and Nancy Page, of Beverly (Nancy worked in EDP, Cadis, Customer Service and Credit & Collections); two brothers, Renato and Silvio Salvanelli, both of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Rob and Marissa Page, Sarah and Beth Sigurdson, William Karvouniaris, Steven and Ariana Salvanelli; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Arthur Salvanelli.

Mr. Kenneth H. Premo, 81 years old, of Wenham MA died at his home Tuesday October 11, 2005, after his bout with cancer.  He was the husband of Marguerite “Peggy” (Vacca) Premo.

 

He was born and raised in Worcester, MA and has lived in the Hamilton/Wenham area for the past 40 years.  He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII as a Technical Sergeant.  He was employed by Verizon Communication (formerly New England Telephone) and spent 35 years in Yellow Pages Directory, retiring in 1988 as a Regional District Manager. 

 

Mr. Premo was a member of the Directory Alumni Council (past President), Hamilton Wenham Boosters Club (past President), the Maples Homeowners Association (past President), the Wenham Country Club, as well as the Telephone Pioneers.  He was a member of the American Legion, Post 194 in Hamilton, where he was the director of the Cribbage league. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Parish in Hamilton.

 

Ken enjoyed traveling, taking many cruises all around the world with Peggy.  They visited 6 of the 7 continents.  He loved to garden, play golf, fish, play cards and most of all spend time with his family.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Jean Costas and her husband Charles Costas of Ridgefield, CT, his son Kenneth Jr. and his wife Sandra of Hamilton, MA, and another daughter Diane Ifkovic and her husband William Ifkovic of Guilford, CT.  In addition, his grandson Kenneth Premo III, with his 2 daughters Victoria & Olivia, granddaughter Pamela with her 2 daughters MacKenzie and Meghan, grandson Joseph Premo, granddaughter Nicole Costas with her 2 children Nikolas and Brianna, and grandson Christopher Costas and his wife Allison.

 

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:AM at the Church of St. Paul, 50 Union St. Hamilton, MA.  Visiting hours will be Thursday 4 to 8 at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.  Donations in his name may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm Street, Danvers, MA.

Mr. Robert E. Quamo, 77 years of Western Ave Lynn died in Salem Hospital on Saturday after a brief illness. He is the husband of Mrs. Tafta (Petrides) Quamo.
He was born in Leusa, Albania in 1928, the son of the late Polivi and Neoridha (Jani) Quamo. He was educated in Lynn Schools and was a resident of Lynn most of his life.
He was an Army Veteran and served as a combat engineer in the late 1940’s He was a decorated member of the US Army’s Tricolor Rifle team. He was a member of St. George’s Albanian Cathedral in South Boston. He was a member of the Essex Lodge AF and AM Masonic Lodge. He was a member of IUE Local 201 in Lynn.
Mr. Quamo was an avid sailor and was proud he sailed on the HMS Urania of the Netherlands with the Commander of the Dutch Fleet, brother in law, Fritz Reedeker in the 1976 Tall Ships .He was an enthusiastic amateur photographer and sketch artist. He enjoyed horseback riding. He loved to talk. His greatest joy was his family He was a devoted grandfather to his granddaughters.
He was long term employee of the General Electric Co in Lynn as a Machinist. He retired in 1981. Prior to GE he was the Vice President of Wingfoot Slipper Co in Lynn.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 daughters Susan A. Shatford of Marblehead, and Laura D. Quamo of Marblehead. 1 brother Pirro P. Quamo of Swampscott. 2 sisters: Dorothy H. Quamo of the Netherlands and Shirley E. Maloney of CT. He also leaves 3 granddaughters Jennifer L, Christina S and Kimberly A. Shatford all of Marblehead. And several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rte 1A) Lynn followed by funeral services in St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Lynn at 10:00 AM. Pardon Newell Dexter V
, 80, passed away Saturday September 10, 2005.
He was born Dec. 28, 1924, at his family's home in Dover, NH. He grew up in Swampscott, MA. He attended and played varsity hockey at Hebron Academy in Hebron, ME. He was a freshman at Harvard University before joining the Navy, serving on the LST NO. 835 in the Pacific.  After the war, he and his brother-in-law Bill Nichols formed a printing and label company. He joined New England Telephone in 1956, where he worked as a Yellow Pages salesman and manager until 1986.
He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Blue Lodge, Saugus, MA., NC Scottish Rite, Ashville and Oasis Shrine Temple, Charlotte. He was active in the Republican Party, the Hendersonville Area Computer Society, Telephone Pioneers and several veterans organizations.  His family and many friends recall that he loved people, life and his Creator.
He is survived by his wife, Adelheid C. Hofmann, whom he married in 1958.  She lived in New York City when they married and was originally from Germany. He is also survived by three children, Charlotte M. Dexter of London, England and Pardon N. Dexter VI, his wife, Sandra and their sons, Sam and Luke, and Alan G. Dexter, his wife, Kirsten, and their children, Zachary and Alexa of Charlotte.
A graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Tom Hughes officiated.  Military rites will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. A memorial service was held at the Mills River Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2142 Jeffress Road.

Richard L. Ori, 76, of Naples, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Georgeson Hospice House. Mr. Ori was born on December 27, 1928 in Newton, MA to Louis and Katherine Ori who were from Parma, Italy. Mr. Ori graduated Wellesley High School in 1947 then graduated from School of Practical Arts in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed a very successful career with Yellow Pages advertising at Verizon Communications. Mr. Ori was an avid golfer and former member of Pelican Marsh Country Club and Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale, MA.
Mr. Ori is survived by his loving wife, Margaret of Naples; one daughter, Jana Grady and her husband, Timothy of Whitinsville, MA; one son, Richard J. Ori of Santa Monica, CA; one sister, Norma Schaufus of Framingham, MA; and four loving grandchildren.

This past March Leo represented a construction firm on a United States of America Department of Commerce Trade Conference in Panama City, Panama. Leo was a problem solver who worked to provide business solutions to a variety of businesses.

BEVERLY — Rena M. (Madore) Fugere-Blanchette, age 92, of Beverly and formerly of Salem, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled
Nursing Center in Beverly. She was the wife of the late G. Henry Fugere and was also the wife of the late Leon S. Blanchette.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Maxime and Clara (Belanger) Madore.

She was at one time employed by the former E.P. Madore Jewelers of Salem, and for many years, she was a medical secretary in the office of the late Dr. Rene Desjardins. She retired in 1977.

Mrs. Fugere-Blanchette was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.

She is survived by three daughters, Joan M. Thomas of Salem, Kathleen A. and her husband, Charles A. Benoit III, of Beverly, and Gloria B. Fugere of Revere; one son, Paul H. and his wife, Patricia Fugere, of Honolulu, Hawaii; three brothers, Roland and John Madore, both of Salem, and Michael Madore of Kittery, Maine; two sisters, Gilberte Funchion of Beverly and
Anne Marie Stanley of Manchester-by-the-Sea; seven grandchildren, Robin and Wendi Thomas, Michelle Zoltowski, Amy Mohr, Christopher, and Michael and Charles A. Benoit IV; four great-grandchildren; two stepchildren, Ronald Blanchette and Elaine Tierney, both of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shirley V. (Gray) Ayles, 87 years of Lynnfield Street, Lynn died Friday in Union Hospital after a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Everett Ayles who died July 16, 2005. She was born in Lynn , the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred (Wellsman) Gray. She was raised in Lynn attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. She lived in Lynn all of her life.


She leaves a son Thomas W. Ayles and his wife Jean of Peabody and a daughter: Judith Ann Ayles-Domey and her husband Donald of Salem NH She also leaves 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. She is the mother of the late Donald E. Ayles.

We just learned of the death of Richard W. Martin. The information below appeared in the Beverly Citizen.

Richard W. (Dick) Martin, 78, of Beverly, died March 16, 2005, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a long illness. He was the husband of Irene (Carnevale) Martin and the late Lois (Johnson) Martin, his first wife, who died in 1991.   Mr. Martin was born in Salem, son of the late Clarence W. and Mildred (Gilbert) Martin.  He was a longtime resident of Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1944.  He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served with the Seabees. He was a retired supervisor with the New England Telephone Company and was a member of their Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Martin was a lifetime member and past commodore of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly and was a member of the Liberty Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Beverly and the Aleppo Temple Shrine in Wilmington.  In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by: two sons, David R. Martin and his wife, Judith, of Beverly and Dana R. Martin and his wife, Janice, of Lynnfield; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor M. Anderson of Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, Robert D. Martin of Beverly; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean J. (Maccario) Patti, age 67, of Saugus, died Saturday August 13, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She is the wife of the late Raymond C. Patti, Sr. Born in Lynn, she is the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria (Ciampa) Maccario.
She was raised in Saugus and lived in Saugus her entire life. She is a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1956. She also attended the Mansfield Academy for Hairdressing in Boston. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Patty” Patti Zuravel (formerly worked in CSD) and her husband Hal of Saugus, a son, Patrick S. Patti and his fiancé Kim of Saugus, a daughter-in-law Nancy Patti of Saugus; 4 grandchildren; Barbara Jean Patti, Christina Patti, Ashley Harbison and Mark Zuravel; a brother; Vincent P. “Jimmy” Maccario Scarborough, ME, a sister-in-law, Beverly Maccario of Saugus and several nieces and nephews. Ruth E. Benson, a lifelong resident of Somerville, died Saturday July 30 at the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 88 years old.

Born in Somerville on May 31, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Sarah (Gauthier) Eisnor. She was an active member of the Community Baptist Church on College Ave in Somerville.

Mrs. Benson was the beloved mother of Ralph A. Benson and his wife Ellen C. of Stoneham and Linda R. Benson of Winthrop. She was the devoted grandmother of Christopher R. Benson of Somerville and Melissa E. Doyle of Hingham, the dear sister of Alice M. Walker of CT and the late Donald A. Eisnor of Everett and Thelma E. Mosher of Somerville.

Private Funeral Services in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield were held on Tuesday August 2. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.

She was employed as a Manager for Verizon in Middleton , retiring after 20 years of service.

She is the former wife of Armand DeSantis . She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is the Sister of the late Kevin Wade.

Everett R. Ayles, age 86, of Lynn, passed away Saturday at his home after a brief illness. He is the husband of Shirley V. (Gray) Ayles, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he is the son of the late Herbert and Martha (Hunter) Ayles.
     A lifelong Lynn resident, he was a Graduate of Lynn English High School. He was also a graduate of Northeastern University Criminal Justice program. He was a retired Lynn Police Officer, serving for over 32 years. He also worked as a machinist at General Electric in Lynn. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Frogmen Mine Disposal Unit. He received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. He was a member of the Naval Explosive Ordinance Disposal Association.
He was the past Commodore of the Volunteer Yacht Club, Lynn and a member of the Commodores Club of America. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lodge, Lynn District 9 as well as the Shriners of North America. He was also a member of the Danvers Fish and Game. He was an avid outdoor sportsman and boating enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Thomas W. Ayles and his wife Jean of Peabody and a daughter, Judith A. Domey and her husband Donald of Salem, NH. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is the father of the late Donald E. Ayles and brother of the late Wilfred “Wink” and Francis Ayles.

Mary L. (Gelott) Trabucco, 90

PEABODY — Mary L. (Gelott) Trabucco, 90, wife of Frank P. Trabucco Sr., of Peabody, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at Salem Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on March 9, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Catarena (Scarcellar) Gigliotti. She was raised in Peabody, graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1932, and was a lifelong resident of the city.

During World War II, Mrs. Trabucco was employed as an assembler at the Sylvania Hytron in Salem. While Mayor Philip O'Donnell was in office, she became the assistant purchasing agent for the city of Peabody, a position that she held for 30 years until her retirement in 1982

She was a member of the Peabody Ladies Lodge 1964, Peabody Garden Club and the AARP Chapter 106. He life revolved around her family, and she loved going to lunch with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also an avid reader.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and their wives, William F. "Bill" and Yvonne Trabucco of Beverly and Frank P. "Buddy" and Joan Trabucco Jr. of Peabody; a daughter and her husband, Bonnie L. and Roger Gallant of Peabody; three sisters, Catherine Cronin, Lucy Peterson and Lena Styles, all of Peabody; 10 grandchildren, Amy and Peter Capalbo of Beverly, Lisa and Stuart Katz of Hampton, N.H., Mark and Suzanna Trabucco, Anne Trabucco, Michelle, Phillip and Denise Gallant, all of Peabody; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Trabucco of Peabody, Nicholas and Sophia Capalbo of Beverly; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony, William, Camino and Benjamin Gigliotti, Frank Gelott and Rachel "Suzy" Wheeler.

I am saddened to inform you of the death of our dear friend and NY Downstate Alumni Board Member Genevieve Scott (Scotty). Scotty passed away Saturday evening at home after battling cancer since diagnosed February 4, 2005. She was a remarkable woman and never let this illness get her down. She had a lot of faith and that is what kept her going all this time. She tried to do as much as she could until the end.  Scotty will be missed by all of us. Gerard J. “GJ” Pierce, Jr.

PEABODY—Gerard J. “GJ” Pierce, Jr., 48, beloved husband of Linda (Robertson) Pierce, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a car accident in Texas.

Born in Winchester, he was the son of Mary E. (Lynch) Pierce and the late Gerard J. Pierce, Sr. He lived in Peabody for most of his life, and lived in Keller, TX for the last two years. He attended Peabody and Lynnfield schools, and graduated from Austin Prep School in North Reading.

Mr. Pierce served in the United States Air Force just after the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed gathering with friends and family.

He is survived by: his wife, Linda (Robertson) Pierce of TX, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage; two daughters, Casey Pierce and Danielle Pierce, both of TX; his mother, Mary E. (Lynch) Pierce of Middleton; four brothers, William “Bill” Pierce of Hollis, NH, Chris Pierce of Middletowne, DE, Dave Pierce of Derry, NH, and Steve Pierce of Salem, NH; two sisters, Mary Ellen Fraser of Middleton, MA and Joanne Kelly of Leominster, MA; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Robertson-Bennett of Lynnfield, and he also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a gathering in commemoration of his life on Thursday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St. location, Peabody.

In Rowley, of Newburyport, May 28, 2005, age 87. She worked at Malden Hospital. Wife of the late Dwight Flanders who died in 1960 and the late Dr. Charles E. Rounds, who died in 1971. Mother of David P. Flanders, and wife Deborah; and Donald C. Flanders, and wife Susan all of Newburyport; step-mother of Dr. Charles E. Rounds, Jr. of Topsfield and Beverly Stanley of Hingham; grandmother of Jessica, Elizabeth, Dana and Kate Flanders and Matthew Kirk; great-grandmother of Brian Kirk; and sister of Valeria Phillips of PA, and sister in law of Elizabeth McKown of Beverly.

A Memorial Service for relatives & friends will be held Sat., June 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St, NEWBURYPORT. Private Graveside Service will be held at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. There will be no calling hours. Frances C. (Whelan) Abraham, age 65, the wife for 42 years of retired Salem Fire Department captain, Walter Abraham of Salem, died at home Friday afternoon, May 6, 2005, surrounded by her family following a long illness. 

Born in Salem, Mass., the daughter of the late Joseph and Madeline (Walsh) Whelan, Mrs. Abraham was educated in Salem schools.  Following her graduation from Sale High School, she graduated from Salem Business School.  Shortly after her business school graduation, her high school sweetheart returned from the Navy and they married. 
 A dedicated mother, Mrs. Abraham stayed home and raised their children.  Later, she became employed in the customer service department of NYNEX for several years, until her retirement.  She loved her family and grandchildren.  An accomplished horticulturist, Mrs. Abraham enjoyed caring for the gardens around her home.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Tara Lee and her husband Wayne Croteau of Methuen, and Dr. Brian and his wife Jennifer Abraham of Powell, Ohio; and aunt and uncle, Loretta and her husband Joseph Daigle of St. Petersburg, Fla; five grandchildren , Eliza, Connor, Hunter and twins Emily and Ryan; two sisters Madeline Wesley of Durham, N.H., and Patricia Kidney of Dracut, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Whelan. 
Arrangements: 
Her funeral was held at Murphy Funeral Home followed by a Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.

Miss Helen Lazarus, 55, of Lynn, died Friday, April 8,2005 in Salem Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Elsie "Jean" (Wilson) Lazarus.  She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1967.  She then went on to receive a Bachelor in Science in 1984 and a Masters in History in 1994 from Salem State College.  She was employed as an accountant for Verizon Communications for 18 years (worked in CADIS). Miss Lazarus leaves a brother, Stephen Lazarus of Millis; an aunt Rita Anderson of New Hampshire, an uncle, Henry Wilson and many cousins. 

 
Graveside services will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.  Arrangements by the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn.

Beverly J. Parsons, 71, of Revere, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, following a brief illness, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Everett, she lived in Revere her entire life and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1956.

She worked for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. and continued working for the phone company for 34 years until her retirement from Verizon.

She was a member of the Boston University General Alumni Association.  She was the daughter of the late Augustus and Florence (Edgecombe) Parsons.  She leaves a sister, Beatrice M. "Betty" Parcells of East Boston.

Graveside services were held March 31 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett

Mr. Thomas G. Sawyer, 57, of Peabody, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 in Salem Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Herbert and Martina (Mc Gaughey) Sawyer.  He was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1966.

He formerly worked at the former Didex in Peabody.

Mr. Sawyer leaves a sister, Elizabeth Sawyer (formerly worked in CSD and Field Sales) of Peabody; a brother, Herbert Sawyer of Peabody; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn, April 1 at 11a.m.  Arrangements by Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, Lynn.

Mr. Andre Pierre Rodgers, 37 years old of Lynn, died Friday March 4, 2005 in Union Hospital due to complications of diabetes. He was born in Saugus, Ma. He was the son of Brenda Rodgers of Newton, NH and Harry Eaton of Haverhill, MA. He was raised in Lynn and attended Lynn Schools. He was a basketball standout at Lynn English High where he earned the nickname, “Dr. Dre.”  Music, basketball and spending time with his family and friends was his passion.  In addition to his parents, he leaves a daughter, Latasha Anderson, a sister, Gina Grandberry, a brother-in-law, Todd Burton, a nephew, Todd Burton, Jr, a brother, Mark Rodgers, his grandmothers, Vera Grandberry and Marylou Eaton, two godchildren, Aleyah Bryant and Giovanni Anderson, all of Lynn, MA and a god brother, James Chris Easley of Atlanta, GA. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his home boys. He was the grandson of the late Staff Sgt. James Grandberry of Lynn, MA and Louis Eaton, Sr. of Little Rock, AR. He was the brother of Demetria Givens, 38 years old of Chicago, IL who predeceased him in death on Feb. 9, 2005 also due to complications of diabetes.

We just learned that Jim Rose, Dianna Rose's husband passed away.  Dianna and Jim both worked in NY Upstate Production. Dianna also worked on the Conversion Team. COLONIE James D. Jimmy Rose Sr., 51, died at home after a long illness with his family by his side on Thursday, February 3, 2005. A lifelong resident of Albany, Jimmy was the son of the late William J. Rose Sr. and Phyllis (Sedgwick) Rose. Jimmy served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He later went to work for Bell Atlantic/ Verizon retiring after 16 years of employment. James was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and knives, going fishing, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and billiards. Jimmy is predeceased by his sister, Mildred V. Lepore. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dianna Rose and his two sons, James D. Rose Jr. and William J. Rose.

He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Pitts; his brother, William J. Rose Jr.; 10 nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a Military Veteran's charity of one's choice in memory of James D. Rose Sr.
